Free Wi-Fi service Will Continue at 415 Railway Station Even After Google Contract Ends.

RailTel said that the free Wi-Fi services will continue at 415 Railway stations even after its Google station contract expires in May 2020. Google has decided to end up the Google station service globally this year.

 At present, RailTel is partnered with Google to provide free Wi-Fi service in 415 railway station and public places but recently Google announced that the company is going to wind down all Google station as Google is not finding any way to grow this business model.

Google provide the Radio Access Network (RAN) and Technology support and RailTel provided physical Infrastructure and Internet bandwidth.

RailTel is in a 5 years contract with Google for providing high-speed free Wi-Fi at 415 stations and the contract is going to expire in May 2020. But RailTel announced that the free Wi-Fi service will be going to continue even after the contact end with the same speed and network quality.  

RaiTel also announced that they are planning to add 5190 + stations for providing free Wi-Fi around the country with the help of other new partners. The PSU, which comes under the Ministry of Railways thanked Google for helping them in the last five years.
