TikTok has introduced a new feature ‘Family Safety Mode’ which is going to give parents more control over their child's account. TikTok parent company ByteDance introduce this feature because the app is heavily used by teenagers and the content available on TikTok are for all age group.

These new Family Safety features going to help the parent to know about the content their children are watching. The parent will be able to control how their kids use TikTok and how much time they spend on it.

These new features consist of a restricted mode to keep kids away from improper content, watch-time management and also limit to direct messages on TikTok. But to enable Family Safety Mode, parents have to create their own account on the app. To use this feature, parents account will be linked to their kid’s TikTok account.

The company knows very well that TikTok is a highly addictive platform and heavily use by teenagers. This is the reason why TikTok is more concerned with kids' safety and introduces the new Family Safety Mode. TikTok also asked its popular creators to make videos, educating users about their safety and health concerns while using the popular social app.

However, the feature is not available globally, initially it is rolling out in the UK. The company says it will be available for other regions in the coming month.

In a blog post on the company's official blog, Cormac Keenan, Head of Trust and Safety, EMEA, said, "We will keep introducing ways to keep our community safe so they can stay focussed on what matters to them – creating, sharing, and enjoying the creativity of TikTok's community."
