WhatsApp Gets Facebook Messenger Rooms Integration. Feature observed in its Beta Version.

WhatsApp is testing the Facebook Messenger Rooms integration on the beta version of WhatsApp for Android. The feature was spotted by a developer in the beta version 2.20.139 for Android. The feature is still in development mode and it is not functional yet. As both the platform is owned by Facebook so they are trying to integrate both the platform. Facebook is testing the Messenger Rooms shortcut on its platform that will lead users directly to Messenger Rooms.  

Facebook has recently announced the launch of Messenger Rooms features in many different countries which allow users to have a group chat with 50 people at a time. Facebook also announced that they are going to integrate the Messenger Rooms on a platform like Instagram and Facebook Portal there is no proper information about the availability of this feature.

From a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is also testing Facebook Messenger Rooms shortcuts on beta version 2.20.139 for Android. However, the feature is still development mode and it is not functional yet. The report is indicating that a shortcut for Messenger Rooms will be available in the chat/group share sheet. Currently, if the users select the ‘Room option, a window appears, explaining the feature.  

The user can join the Messenger Rooms directly through the link, like Zoom Cloud Meetings and Houseparty apps and you don’t even need a Facebook account to do so. The user can create a room and can start video call sessions with 50 participants in a single time. Facebook has announced this feature at a time when people around the world are staying at their homes to stop the spread of novel coronavirus.
