WhatsApp Will Increase Group Call Limit from 4 People to 8 People.


WhatsApp Messenger officially confirmed that they are going to double the number of participants in a group video call. Now WhatsApp group call limit is going to increase from 4 people to 8 people. As we know that till now WhatsApp supports only four participants at a time for having a video call. The change was first spotted in the beta version of WhatsApp for both Android and iPhone. And now the parent Facebook has officially announced the change and increasing the number of participants in a group call.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the upcoming feature of WhatsApp group calls. He shared a small video showing all upcoming new features of different social media platforms that are own by Facebook.

“More than 700 million daily actives use WhatsApp and Messenger for calling. In many countries, calling has doubled since the Covid-19 outbreak began, wrote Zuckerberg. “To help you stay connected with your whole family and groups of friends, we’re doubling the number of people who can participate in a group video call from 4 to 8 on WhatsApp.”

WhatsApp’s head Will Cathcart revealed the increased limit to group call in a tweet and he also mentions that the feature will start rolling out next week for Android and iPhone users.


We all have to wait for a few more days to enjoy the new feature which allows 8 participants for a group call.
